The Big Red Ball 2017

At this year's glittering Big Red Ball gala our supporters and stars from the world of sport came together for an evening of fine dining, entertainment and money can't buy auction prizes to raise funds for our life-changing work with children.

The evening, hosted by Mark Durden-Smith, took place at the impressive Grand Connaught Rooms where an incredible £436,000 was raised which is enough to provide weekly sport and play activities to over 13,000 children for a year.

Our fundraising focus this year was on refugee communities. We run play-based education programmes in 52 refugee camps across the world, from Jordan to Ethiopia, and our weekly play activities provide essential psychological healing and education for children traumatised by conflict, such as the war in Syria.

How your support helps

Since 2012, guests at the Big Red Ball have raised over £2.6 million to fund our life-changing work with children. This is an amazing achievement – and as a result of the generosity of our amazing supporters and Big Red Ball guests.

Every week the lives of over one million children are being transformed as they play Right To Play games and learn to bring about positive change. Right To Play runs play-based education programmes in a range of countries and environments around the world including 52 refugee camps, from Jordan to Ethiopia. Our weekly play activities provide essential psychological healing and education for children traumatised by conflict in these regions. The activities they benefit from are led by the thousands of local community leaders and teachers, trained by Right To Play as volunteer coaches. They all rely on funds raised by events like the Big Red Ball.  Your support makes this vital work possible.

  Big Red Ball 2016

The 2016 Big Red Ball  celebrated the impact Right To Play’s volunteer coaches have on the lives of the children in our programmes. The centrepiece of the event was the all-new, immersive Secret Course that left guests inspired by the determination and passion of our coaches – and in particular Nidal, Imran and Maria.  You can hear their stories on the link below.

Over £400,000 was raised for Right To Play’s  work, enough to provide weekly sport and play activities to over 13,000 children for a year.  A huge thank you to everyone involved on the night.
